Since Sony Search only returns web pages that contain all the words in your query, refining or narrowing
your search is as simple as adding more words to the search terms you have already entered.
Sony Search is not case sensitive. All letters, regardless of how you type them, will be understood as lower case.
By default, Sony Search only returns pages that include all of your search terms. There is no need to include "AND" between terms.
For retrieving pages that include either word A or word B, please use an uppercase OR between terms.
To find pages that includes the exact phrase you have entered, please enclose terms in double quotes (").
If you do not want to retrieve pages with a certain words, please put a minus sign ("-")
immediately in front of the term you want to avoid.
Sony Search ignores common words and characters (known as stop words) like "where" and "www". For retrieving pages that include stop words, please put a plus sign ("+") immediately in front of the term you want to include.
For retrieving pages in a given domain, site or directory, please put a "site:" immediately in front of the domain, the site or the directory. Note there can be no space between the "site:" and the domain, the site or the directory.
Domain: sony.net, net, sony.com, com, sony.co.jp, co.jp, jp ....
Site: www.sony.net, www.sony.com, www.sony.co.jp, ....
Directory: www.sony.net/SonyInfo/News/Press, www.sony.com/SCA, ....
NOTE: Please be careful to NOT put a slash at the end of the Directory (URL pattern). If you put it, Sony Search returns fewer or zero results. Because only pages within the directory will be searched and pages in sub-directories will not be considered.
"allintitle:"
For retrieving pages of which the title includes all specified terms, please put a "allintitle:" in front of the terms.
"intitle:"
For retrieving pages of which the title includes a specified term, please put a "intitle:" in front of the term. And other term are anywhere in the document. Note there can be no space between the "intitle:" and the term. The following example will return documents with "vaio" in their title and have the word "support" somewhere in the pages.
"allinurl:"
You can restrict your search result to URLs with all the specified words in them. For retrieving page of which the URL includes all specified terms, please put a "allinurl:" in front of the terms. The following example will return pages whose URLs have 'sonystyle' and 'VAIO'.
"inurl:"
With "inurl:" operator in front of a word, the search will return only the documents with the specified word somewhere in the URL. Note there can be no space between the "inurl:" and the term. In the following example, the search result includes the documents with "products" in the URLs and "vaio" somewhere in the documents.
For retrieving pages that link to a specified page, please put a "link:" immediately in front of the page URL. Note there can be no space between the "link:" and the page URL.
For retrieving some basic information about a specified page, please put a "info:" immediately in front of the page URL. Note there can be no space between the "link:" and the page URL.
